 Programs:

  • 3+2 or 2+3 Bachelors of Architecture with Fuzhou University, Fuzhou, China
  • 2+2 in Bachelors of Accountancy with Northeast Normal University, Changchun, China
  • 2+2 in Bachelors of Aviation Maintenance with Shenyang Aerospace University, Shenyang, China
  • 3+1 in Bachelors of Foreign Language and International Trade with I-Shou University in Kaohsiung, Taiwan

The 3+2 or 2+3 Bachelors of Architecture program with Fuzhou University has the distinction of being the first international transfer program established at SIU Carbondale.  Recognizing that a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture in China requires five years of study, SIU Carbondale has pioneered a flexible 3+2 or 2+3 transfer program with Fuzhou University in this discipline.  Students may choose to do three years in Fuzhou and two in SIU, or two years in Fuzhou and three in SIU, to receive the dual degree.  Students who have completed this degree at SIU have decided to continue on to their Master’s studies, done at SIU or elsewhere.

The 2+2 Bachelors of Accountancy program with Northeast Normal University has, to date, enrolled over 400 students with over 100 finishing their degrees at SIU.  Many of our graduates have continued on with Masters degrees in Accountancy at SIU and other institutions in the US and UK.  Several, after completing their graduate degrees, have landed careers in prestigious accountancy firms such as PWC in large metropolitan areas such as New York City.  This program also allows for an accelerated Master’s program, which waives GRE and TOEFL for high achieving students.

The 2+2 Bachelors of Aviation Maintenance with Shenyang Aerospace University has started its inaugural Freshmen class in Shenyang China with the first cohort of 69 students.  Dr. John M. Dunn, Interim Chancellor of SIU Carbondale, led a team comprised of Dr. Andrew D. Carver, Executive Director of the Center for International Education, Mr. Yi Lee, Deputy Director, International Partnership Development, and Mr. Marc Cheng, International Student Recruitment Consultant, visited the cohort last September.

The 3+1 Bachelors of Foreign Language and International Trade with I-Shou University was finalized in 2019 and has the distinction of being the first transfer program that awards a SIU Carbondale degree in one year.  Geared towards international students from South and Southeast Asia studying abroad in Taiwan, this program allows for cost effective pathway for international students who normally would not consider coming to the US for study due to cost of tuition.  We at SIU Carbondale wish to make education accessible to all.
